A small-town pahadi boy from Himachal Pradesh, with a childhood eye-sight disorder, Ankush Bhardwaj captured the heart of the audience and judges alike with his successful stint in Sony TV’s reality singing show ‘Indian Idol’ season 10 in 2018. Rising to prominence as the first runner-up of this reality singing show, Ankush made a name for himself in the music industry as a composer and singer.
One of his career highlights was when he lent his voice to the campaign track of ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018. He sang the song ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ for this campaign. In 2020, Ankush composed his song ‘Ek Tere Bajon’ and released it on YouTube, which garnered 4 lakh+ views on the platform.
Ankush began his career in the music industry by participating in ‘Voice of Himalayas’, Himachal’s biggest singing talent show in 2011. He ended up being a finalist on the show, and thereafter he started performing in Shimla and Kangra’s music festivals. He made his playback debut in Bollywood with the song ‘Sab Badhiya Hai’ for the movie ‘Sui Dhaaga’ in 2018. Ankush was also rewarded as ‘Shimla ki Awaz’ in the ‘Himachal Ki Awaz’ contest.
Ankush is the rising talent of the music industry and is fondly referred to as the ‘Kishore Kumar’ of this generation, owing to this soulful voice, that can sing both classical and Bollywood songs. He is a stellar performer, who can get the audience grooving to his voice.
